There was a young bird
She had just found flight
Hiding inside her mind
And begging to see light.
So she spreads her wings,
And begins to soar.
She glides and she sings.
She's restricted no more.
A stone strikes spoiling
All her vitality.
A boy watched her fall
Back down to reality.
II.
There once was a boy
Who dreamed he could fly.
He spread out his arms,
Yet couldn't reach the sky.
He held a bag with
Rocks of reality,
Keeping from him his
Individuality.
He now knows the truth,
He starts forgiving
All the people in life
Who stopped him from living.
He removes the rocks,
Throws them to the sky,
And they strike a bird
Who had just learned to fly.
III.
Let a boy believe
That he is a bird,
He's being himself,
That's all that has occured.
Would you hit a boy
To smother his dreams?
He must be himself
And must be who he seems.
If he's not himself,
Then who could he be?
You clip his wings now,
And he'll never be free...
Author notes
kids with innocence are hit with rocks thrown from society who aims at tearing away this innocence and making everyone the exact same. When someone speaks his/her opinion, society shuts them up. Kids at a very young age are forced to go through more than they ever should because of all the violence that exists. This has to stop. What did these birds ever do to us? Let them be free and have their fun. Eventually they will tire and come to the ground. Until then, who are we to force them to do so?

awww this is such a sweet tale... I am imagining that you are taking this from the start of the song and gaining your inspiration there? Very beautiful indeed.
