Silence
nothing but for the echoing footsteps
of my own set of feet
scuffing down the street
Silence
walking alone down baren roads
no life to see
none but me
Silence
consuming my soul through my eyes
and burning me deep
leaving nothing to keep
Silence
alone and wandering an empty world
I find no one around
in the world to which I'm bound
Silence
I'll sit in the quiet in my mind
waiting for a glance of anything
that can break this damning
Silence
Author notes
being alone is what i fear
without anything to hear
no life of anything around
and I am stuck, forever bound

This poem makes me think of the movie and video game 'Silent Hill' where the character is walking around by themself through thick fog and snowing ashes in a seemingly dessereted, eerie world. Nice piece with some good imagery, thanks for your entry and good luck in the contest!

Excellent write. Alone and silent can be scary to some. Good luck on the contest.
