heatbreak

every night,
it's the same thing...
i will call you later.

and when he did,
it was to tell me that he is tired.

two days previous,
he gave me his class ring,
a promise that we will be together.

a day after my birthday,
he says once again,
that he cannot talk.
so i ask what i did wrong,
i want to know why he doesnt love me,
and he claims that he does,
but then hastily adds in-
lets take a break.

HA!
a break...
makes me sick to think of what he will do.
i guess i should have known the first time he cheated,
but i just never learned.

and to think that i actually believe him when he says,
don't worry reece,
we will get back together soon,
i promise...

but he does not see that i cry,
and just when i thought i could take more,
he took my heart and shattered it into a million tiny fragments,
waiting to be picked up,
waiting for you to do your magic,
put it together again,
and make it all seem like its gonna be ok...

    yes we all go through this one. I like the idea very unique and it relates very much to a highschoolers life.
