Inescapable.

I'll stand at the top
of this desolate mound,
afraid to free-fall
Indignant butterflies
swarming and twirling
The scent of air
dizzying you
Losing all sense,
down we go...

I definately can relate to this, considering I couldn't do the climbing exercises when we went to an outdoors sport centre or going up ladders or dodgy stairs, I feel highly (no pun intended) frightened.

Hmm, good take on the prompt, I think.

    "desolate mound"
    Nice phrase.

    "Indignant butterflies"
Man, I hate butterflies as you know. Very amusing line.

    Suggestions:

    "The scent of the air"
Just make it "The scent of air", or "The scent of oxygen" if you so desire.

    Otherwise, pretty cool poem.
