Haiku
This Japanese form of syllable poetry is a non-rhyming poem about nature. The word nature is never used but is alluded to by using words usually descriptive of seasons For example: snow for winter; red leaves for autumn; peony scent for summer; new buds for spring. With nature as its theme it should present a clear and vivid picture, a mental image which arouses an emotion and triggers a spiritual insight.
It contains three lines with a syllable count as follows:
Line 1 contains 5 syllalbes
Line 2 contains 7 syllables
Line 3 contains 5 syllables
