I. The Fateful Day
A songbird's voice
to supplement sapphire eyes
And a liar's smile--
You really did have it all.
Dancing at a club--
and some drinking, too.
I fell in love;
Maybe I fell in lust, too.
II. The Incident
Work isn't my dream,
but I thought you were.
When I came home one night,
you were snaking under the sheets.
It didn't matter with who;
A nameless face can be blamed
as easily as you can.
Caught you redhanded;
A rose by any other name,
wouldn't have broken my heart as badly.
III. The Aftermath
Back at the club,
dancing and drinking.
This broken heart was stitched
back together with tears and time--
the home remedy for heartache.
A pretty number with
doe-brown eyes and velvet hair
sits at my table.
I buy two more drinks.
History always did repeat itself.
So maybe it's not my fault after all.

I really like this write here. Good imagery and a whole lot of truth in this. Best of luck in the contest.
