We kissed
for the first time
We dared
whoever objected
We slept
together soundly
We touched
the places only lovers touch
We loved
only each other
She asked
the question of never ending commitment
I answered
what I knew she wanted me to say
We fought
and still loved
We lost
the battle we knew we would lose
We died
lastnight in each others arms
