Thoughts on The Spelljammer

Even the mightiest fall,
All dreams fade,
Myth becomes legend,
And legends die,
Even the gods themselves are forgotten,
But through all time one has endured,
The Spelljammer,
The living ship that travels the stars,
Moving through the spheres since time began,
Older and more powerful than the deities themselves,
None control that celestial ray,
A definition of majesty and beauty,
It roams the unlimited and deep reaches of the stars,
A picture of freedom, perfection, and unity now tainted,
The fight for her control and what power she may contain,
What greed and power have done to such wonderous beauty,
The battle has spread across the massive bark,
Like her legend has spread through the spheres,
Will sin and battle distroy the mysterious wonder?
Will bitter quarreling end such beauty?
Or will the fight for her end with a winner?
Some one to restore her to the symbol of peace she once was,
Or will they use her for further violience, to destroy?
Maybe she should be distroyed, ending the fight,
Perhaps we were not meant to have such perfection and beauty,
We may not be evolved enough to appreciate her,
Too primitave to respect or comprehend what she represents,
Can we ever rise above our past to understand her,
Without spilling eachothers blood for her power?
Will we ever learn to appreciate beauty,
with out desire to control it?
Or must we bend everything to our will?
There is hope for us,
But is there enough?
