Open Wounds

All of their eyes are alters    and I
am a sacrificial lamb,
bathed in moon tides and repeatedly
slaughtered
in the confined chambers
    of their hearts.

Author notes

sometimes you wish for something for so hard and for so long
and then you severely regret it when your wish came true...

Smiling at your author's notes - so true, so true - but i guess that's how we learn or hopefully learn through our mistakes and bad choices.

Lovely poetry, wonderfully succint without taking anything away from the poetic and emotional quality and impact. I liked this.

Oh my... I've noticed that you like altars (spelling) in your writing of late... and your author notes... anything you want to talk about? I really like the short-and-sweet-ness of this poem the bathed in moon tides part was beautiful... I really like how you can condense almost any feeling into something so breathtaking!

    Keep writing
