Mr. Wolf knocked at the door,
"Is Johnny home?"
Nanny answered from the other side,
"No, go away, he's got a cold,
So you'll have to come back tomorrow."
I was playing in the backyard.
Mr. Bear knocked at the door,
"Is Johnny home?"
Nanny answered from the other side,
"No, go away, he's at a friend's,
So you'll have to come back tomorrow."
I was playing in the backyard.
Nanny came to me in the backyard,
"Mr. Wolf and Mr. Bear came knocking.
They asked for you, but I told them no.
You better not go out in the front yard."
I never went out in the front yard,
but I was always playing in the back.

Well its always best to be prepared!!
....once again providing an enjoyable read. Great write....Not to mention a nifty little trick to keep the kids out of the road.
and bears and wolves dont talk silly...only horses and pigs.

As a side-effect, I grew up thinking that wolves and bears could talk. To say that I was prepared to believe in monsters is an understatement! lol
