Playing cards sure can be fun,
when you play with everyone.
What matters most are other's faces,
it don't matter if you hold aces.
It matters more what they have got,
take your time and think alot.
It always does just make me sick,
when the other guy has got Big Slick.
When I see that it makes me freeze.
I went all-in with just threes.
It now comes down to the flop.
Please, just let me stay on top.
The flop comes ace, two, and king.
The other guy, he starts to sing.
Just now a four on the turn,
and that guys blood starts to burn.
now just to see what the river's got,
for us to see who takes this pot.
I start to shake and to quiver.
There is a big chance on that river.
on a three or five my hopes do rest,
for me to survive this here test.
Playing poker is no sin,
just be careful when all in.
It looks like luck you sure do lack,
if, like me you just got jack

I enjoyed reading that. Some of the rhymes sound a bit forced, but it was still pretty good in this area.
Who knows, I'm just giving small suggestions here. Feel free to totally ignore them.
Otherwise, I love your analogies and writing style in this poem. It's really good and I love the last line. The emotions I think you're trying to evoke are easily understood and felt. And it was just fun to read in general. Haha. Nice work.

The title reminded me of The Seventh Seal, with the knight playing chess with death.

My favorite two lines in the whole poem. It says a lot about life.
You can't just worry about yourself the whole time, you have to worry about other peoples.

interesting subject! I like watching poker, sometimes I get right into it but don't know if I could play! Like you say it doesn't matter what you've got it's how you play the game! Good rhyming scheme and I like that you've chosen an out of the way subject cos it makes for a good read!
