When I Close My Eyes

When I close my eyes,
I open wide my soul
And feel my heart begin to rise
High above the world

And, ’though the land spreads out below,
When I close my eyes,
I only see the warm, bright glow
Waiting for me in the skies

Suddenly, the sunset dies
But, despite the clouds’ cold swarm,
When I close my eyes,
Your hand in mine is warm

Above the clouds, beneath the stars,
Eternity fades and flies
I’m safe, forever, in your arms
When I close my eyes,

    What a beautiful poem indeed. THe journey to healing is long and painful. We are always left with more questions than answers... and must find the comfort in knowing we are not alone... EVER alone in these tragic circumstances. THank you so much for sharing this with me and my family. It is moving and healing.
