I bit nervously
at unpolished nails
flaking within parted lips
trying to breathe
there were shadows
and voices heard
between the clanging of silverware
shaking me
the door danced apart
and I saw your image
fall into the crowded space
I'd made
ten steps to another broken heart
sipping pieces of you
down my tightening throat
burning deeply
and the porcelain tipped onto the scuffed surface
spilling coffee and muted words
upon your leather souls
I cupped my hands
across blushed skin
wishing I could be mopped up
with the mess I'd already made...

simply amazing I love this imagery -
I keep wringing my mop out and using it over and over again. Great use of the prompt.
