I went to visit the park one day
Early in the month of May
All the things that I did see
And the things that happend to me
Are what you now can read
A squirrel running on the ground
A band making the strangest sound
The scouts were building a brand new swing
Out of just about anything
I hope it works alright
A family had a picnic lunch
I noticed some possums having a munch
Of an apple skin they'd found
Somewhere in the park grounds
Maybe from the picnic
As the day faded away
I saw some ducks flying this way
A little girl was feeding them bread
A little boy looked ready for bed
To dream of things he'd seen
That was a very good day
I really should go back someday
And see if things have really changed
Or if it is just the same
Down at the local park.

I appreciate your entry. However, the rhyme is not metered, and the last line of each stanza does not rhyme with the rest at all. I had a hard time flowing through it.
