The Summer That Never Existed

It's the summer that seems like it could never end.
Laughing and crying we would all be together forever.
Never letting a second of these long days fade away.
Falling asleep in each others arms,
listening to the sounds of the waves crashing down in
our minds.
We could never be away from each other,
it was friends forever.
This is what happened in the summer that never
was.
We'd go camping in the summer,
you would hold me in my sleep,
and catch me in my dreams.
We would go down to the beach and drown
in the sunlight.
This is what happened in the summer that never existed.
We would jump in your car and drive around not knowing
where we would go.
We would all sleep under the stars and I curled up beside
you as you whisper sweet words into my ear,
even though you knew I couldn't hear.
Always laughing we would always remember.
We would remember forever
The summer that never ended.
The summer that never happened because I never
went back.
