Her Artistry

When the listless billows go
When countless breezes flow
What manner of mounting enigma grows?
What makes soft, what once was hard?
How do children enjoy themselves in littered backyards?

I saw them forming from everywhere
Silver clouds bullied the air
And one by one, darkened here

Then yesterday’s wisdom and spirited songs played
Dispersing the sky’s thick, dark, cotton’d ways
When this songstress arrived in our lands
Rejuvenating memories of these mortal clans
Weaving wonders while she restarts the sands

O’ the earth has raised her well
By her works, everyone could tell…

Author notes

This piece is a dedication to one of my co-workers. One of the hardest working, most creative and kind-hearted people I know. AND, it's long overdue.
