Last night I had a dream, so bittersweet
I met a long lost friend for the first time
After poison and friendship, lies and truth
He was finally here with me
Confirming all I have found,
Giving me the last puzzle piece,
Fixing what I had broken so long ago
He made me smile
For the first time in what seemed like forever
We got along so well
Like I always thought we would
Then he reached out to me with a sweet smile
But grasped me with that poison grip instead
He tricked me.
I ran into oblivion
Crying for help, but no one was there
He chased me with that same menace
Like I always knew he would...

With the exception of a few parts, I really did have this dream last night. Talk about nightmares x_x

This take on the title is very well done. You displayed a lot of emotion and pain here. Loved this part:

Ugh I'm sorry that you're having nightmares again. This one would really be a killer. However, I do think you handled it very well by getting the best out of a bitter experience and turning it into a beautiful piece of art. And this sorta represents one of my favorite philosophies that people really never change. They're who they are and any attempts to change that just makes them put masks on, if you will. It makes them lie to themselves and everyone around them, and they just ending up hurting themselves and everyone around them. Excellent write. Stay strong.
