Pain smells like old blood
Pain throbs like a flashing flood
Memories of what was good and sweet
Curdle mind's air like rotten meat.
Pain burns like a wounded flame
Pain scars us with a strap of shame
Seasons of gold stardust dreaming
Giving way to escapist scheming
Love bit off more than we could chew
Love made a bad joke of me and you
Songs of happy hope splattered to bits
Too much closeness scattered our wits
Love may soon return or love may depart
Love may tunnel back into a stony heart
Pain will bleed out and leave you dry
Pain and love are with us til we die
Author notes
Hope you feel better soon.

Oh my gosh! This is awesome. Please read my poem on Anger. It is very similar to this. You are very talented. This poem holds one in a death grip. I can really relate to your message. Bravo my friend!!!
