Take your time

The beauty that we capture every day
Is hard to understand, so we don't try.
We see such sights as this and walk on by,
Rarely does a vision make us stay.

We cannot stop to gaze we are too shy

Of showing that we have a tender side
The real questions that we all deny
Are asked and answered by the man inside

So stop today and look at all you see
What are the things for which you've always cried
The ways you know you never really strived
To find out what it is to really be

Take time today to stand and to inspect
The many things that cause us to reflect

Wow... a very uplifting and inspiring piece. This really is the kind of poem you feel like reading each morning before you begin your day. The subject is so important and vital in our lives, one that is so often forgotten, but it is made even better through your craft with words here. Very, very nicely done. Thanks for sharing it and all my best to you and yours...

  • This was uplifting and I loved the style of a sonnet, so thank you for that aswell

    Hmmmm

I do like the style you used on this one. I especially like the reminder you gave us all:

Take time today to stand and to inspect
The many things that cause us to reflect

Good job my friend & good luck!

I was instantly reminded of famous lines by William Henry Davies http://www.blupete.com/Literature/Poetry/Leisure.htm No, not saying you lifted the words or the idea - perish the thought - just that you caught the same spirit. Peaceful I like it.
