I am dependent
as the Statue of Liberty relies on the sea.
I have found my sea,
crashing into me periodically
but without corroding my structure
I am paramount.
Why this body of water so massive
and revered wants to hold me,
I question.
We agree.
I will remain still and reliant,
and you will carry my weight on your shoulders.
I will bring you honor and glory.
We are equal in beauty,
I am symbolic,
you are naturalistic,
and barbaric as you tear many
objects apart with little will.
We are married
by the torch before the ring.
Waves will die a marvelous death upon your rock
which will appear as hands massaging my legs
under my robe.
America will never neglect you for your duties.
America will be the land of freedom.
The grand sea will know all
ingratitude that comes it's way.

wonderful imagery
I really enjoy your metaphor of a loving relationship.
favorite lines:
I have found my sea, (powerful)
Why this body of water so massive
and revered wants to hold me,
I question. (the wonder of being loved by one N so admires )
Waves will die a marvelous death upon your rock ( So expressive!) (reads like the lover's response)
