You seemed to have it all,
I guess no one truly saw you.
We should have been able to see,
Through that mask you wore of happiness,
and cheer.
You were everyones friend,
so loyal and true.
My dear friend,
what happened to you?
I will never forget those words,
On that dreadful morning,
People were crying,
I asked what was wrong,
then those words that hit me like bricks,
"Pope shot herself".
I started crying,
the whole school mourned,
we didn't know if you would make it,
Thank god you did.
You will never be that same Pope,
You still seem so happy,
but you cant see or do stuff you used to,
no more cheerleading,
no more seeing your friends smile.
It just makes me wonder,
why couldn't we see?
Pope,
my dear friend,
I just want you to know,
We all still love you.
Author notes
this is a dedication to the most popular girl in our school, who seemed the happiest, then one morning she shot herself in the head, she is still alive but blind now and so happy still today. but she will never be the same Pope.

I hope she can appreciate that love. You sound like a good and loyal friend and I'm sorry you had to go through this. You write with a lot of compassion for Pope.

What a tragic thing to have happen to such a life! This write goes to show everyone that you just never know what is going on in the human mind! I was so touched by this write...my best wishes to you and to Pope. Thank for sharing your heart!

This was a beautiful piece. You can really sense the heartfelt meaning behind your words. I have a mother that has attempted suicide several times without success thank god. Just be there for your friend and remind her everyday how truely loved she is.
