LOL To: The Man From Kansas (Z)

Hello there, friend
You probably don't really know
that I consider you so; but I do.

I've watched you from afar
your star of sorts.
I've noticed how you care for children
which flies high in my book.

Your heart you don't conceal
like most of us tend to repeatedly do.
You can be found giving words of poetry
in attempts to console another human being
regardless of race or color.
(that means a whole lot)

I realized and recognized that you
probably haven't got a lot of attention
(by way of written tributes)
because you are so unassuming.

Yes, I have read your poetry
'quiet dignity' I sensed in all your writes.
You walk softly-don't you?-but you carry a big stick
Just a guess on my part, that I trust to be accurate.

But what really makes an impression on me,
is your author's page.
It speaks volumes of you.
And, your motto, (may I reveal it here?)
I will assume responsibility.

"The man who dies with the most toys, still dies"
I think this speaks volumes of your character.

And you graciously, just the other day consented yourself
to me; and let me nick name you 'Z'

So, today Z, I honor you, with simple words of grace.
I am writing to tell you that you have touched my life for the better.
You showed by example that its cool to love God and people.
I give you 'props' today
with these few words coming
your way
hoping to brighten your day.

What a humbling poem. Thank you so much. It is always good to know that you touch someone in a positive way.
I was really surprised when I read it, and a little embarrased I guess. Thank you for reading my poetry and than you again for this wonderful tribute!
