Revolution

I apply the greasepaint with a steady, sparing hand.
It's time to revolt against myself and be joyful and play.
It unnerves me to think of so many children in one room,
coming for comedy and not the other, more deserving face.
Dispelling all my sanity, I rush onto the stage for my cue.
He died, that man of 15 minutes ago, and replaced by an entertaining dopleganger.
And soon shall he die to make way for Hamlet, prince of Denmark.

Author notes

I wasn't sure which direction to take, so I went with what I know.

A contest entry

I'm thinking you can all guess who this poem is about, it's still me. Just a bit greener than usual.
