Haunted vocalizations echoing
through hallowed halls of history, bleeding.
Sorrows threatening to break through locked doors,
taunting, laughing in my face as I weep.
Ugly truths resurface, follow me through
madness, a twisted game of hide-and-seek,
hunting me down like a wild animal
in their savage pursuit, relentless chase.
Fragrant failure pervades my senses, and
death coils his icy fingers 'round my throat.
Paralyzed by fear, I am forced to face
myself, through the eyes of my enemies.
Self-hatred rushes through frigid veins, and
numb is this soul, which once felt such anguish.

omg this is one of the best dark poems I've read today!
This so kicks ass!!
I love the wording, imagery, and everything in this piece!
I shuttered at the very end of the piece and was sad when it ended.
Perhaps later you can do a part two of this piece.
Fear...
I'll never look at it the same again!
