I am intelligent
An arrogant statement
An endless lament
Where concepts are sent

It is simple to say and understand
That I am an intelligent man,
I see beyond infinite curves
I can translate the world into functions
And create art from equations.
But for all I can calculate and do
I still cannot fathom you.

Just a person, a woman I know
You are stunning in your brillance
Yet humorous in your ignorance
Your kindness is wondrous
Yet sarcastically hilarious
A surprising contradiction
Which defeats me everytime.
I love you for all that you are,
Never change or think to mar
The spirit that defines you.

While I know there are things I can't see
Somehow you can always find your way to me
I don't know how you can so understand
All the actions I dismiss out of hand.
No matter what I try, you seem a moment ahead
Even when I twist the words of what is said.
I have no new tricks to play
Or riddles to try, but come away
And I will give you all you desire
I promise I will not tire
Until all your wishes
