One, Two, Three With Many Inbetween

Could've been the day we looked
the Cuban crisis square in the eye;
or years living in a house of cards
fanning a succession of wars;
when we stopped breathing
waiting to exhale on the
count of three.

  • Lots of things to hold our breath over, a person's history is filled with it and your metaphor shows that. Yeah, having lived in a house of cards myself I have learned to breathe lightly.

    Very well done...great metaphor and so much truth in your words...it really is scary how many experiences we have had just in our life time, that made us hold our breath...excellent work...
