Crabs and Jelly

Ahhh' puddled in the water, let me get at all that mud,
I'd a' soon be in that fishing boat, but here,
this is more than quite enough.

Mustn't get my trousers wet, been told so many times,
next year I'll be in that there boat
amongst the fishing lines.

Does she know these shallow water secrets,
this wondrous world in which I am so lost?
Seems it's all here only for my eyes, ya' know
an' I'm fixed
the water, stones, crabs and jelly...
no matter what the cost.

    Fantastic!

This is brilliant, I love it. A perfect take on the prompt. Your cleverness never ceases to amaze me. Excellent! (And your commas perfect again too!)

I'm pleased the image inspired you so easily, sometimes spontaneous thoughts and feelings are stronger than those much pondered. Refreshing approach and point of view, certainly a story many could relate to you have shared here. Best wishes to you.

reminds me of holidays in Cornwall as a child and staring for what seemed like hours into rock pools and finding all the joys of the ocean there...

this is joyous and happy... just what I needed to read this morning my friend

I sense an interesting character through whose eyes this is told. Wonderful.
