American Heart

Missing image
She always felt she had an American Heart
Has felt this way from the very start
With America she has such a special bond
Even though she lives far across the pond

She feels so much patriotism and pride
And  loves the way she feels inside
She longs for the day when she will stand
On American soil...her heart's homeland

This is the country where she can be free
Land of her dreams far across the sea
She feels that America is calling her home
Where her heart will find peace..never more will she roam

Author notes

This is basically how I feel about America

The rhyme in your poem is good. The imagery is also good.

land of her dreams far across the sea
She feels that America is calling her home
where her heart will find peace...never more will she roam."

Great job once again. The heart of a true American is one that loves freedom and longs for it again when the two have been separated. Awesome poem!

Very expressive of dreams in general
    and Freedom in particular.
You capture the prompt well in brevity.
I applaud you and had to read this over!

How beautiful to have one's country looked at with such a positive light. Today, there are many who hate Americans for all kinds of reasons, mostly for our foreign policy.

It is nice to see that the ideals of the founding fathers is still appreciated for its original intent.

I felt so good reading this. ~Pamela

This is really a nice tribute to American society...or America as a whole.

It's amazing that you have so much pride in America...even more than some follow Americans.

    As always...a joy to read!

Nice to know you love America so much. This was a nice tribute. I really like this. The only thing I didn't care for was using the words "so much" in 2 lines in a row but it didn't bother me enough to really matter. Good poem. Thanks for sharing
