I stared at all that I could see
A perfect world in a perfect dream
Everyone was fine and I felt so free
And I wished forever, there I'd be
I gave a smile, they gave a wave
They'd all pretend it'd be okay
Someday I knew I'd have to go
But they never know, they never know
When you give someone a choice
And let the world carry their voice
You're giving hope a chance to breathe
But nobody here can see
Living this way is a waste of life and time
I know that they're breathing but they're barely alive
No lessons learned, nothing lost and nothing gained
Everyone's perfect because they're all the same
-
I look around at what I see
An empty place in reality
Everyone was dead or about to die
And I questioned why and searched inside
I talked to them, and they could share
Everything in life they've come to bear
Someday I knew they'd be okay
But they never say, they never say
When you give someone a fate
And let them all carry their weight
We discover truth and we can breathe
But it's hard for us to see
Living this way is how we should live our lives
Nothing is perfect, but everything's alright
We search for the answers, until the day we die
I can only wish we had more time
