A new study has found,
That the happiest of us,
Lie to ourselves.

That the depressed, are depresed,
Because they know too well
That humanity is cruel,
That life is bleak and lonely,
That the world is full of hate.

And they know that of themselves, too.

So, if you want to be happy,
To thine ownself, lie!
