If only I could be,
As totally relaxed and fancy free
As you, laying sprawled,
On the spread
In an awkward position,
At the foot of the bed.
Stretching a paw,
Blinking an eye,
Changing position with
An audible sigh;
But never seeming
To be disturbed,
By the shift in the wind,
Or a too angry word.
Just letting the sun
Seep into your bones,
And leaving the rest
Of the world on it's own.
Oh, if only I could be,
As totally relaxed and fancy free.
