The Portrait

Sketch a shadow of a smile
across a simple face.
Rouge the cheeks,
a blushing grin,
a warmth within the skin.

Paint a picture for a while
of heavenly embrace.
Simple streaks,
a lusting sin,
a blooming deep within.

Hang a memory, to beguile,
a long forgotten place.
Lo, it seeks,
a faded din,
a kiss against your chin.

OOOH, I like this a lot! I love the rhyming style; it's not forced, but it flows with great rhythm with the rest of the poem. I don't think there is anything that should be changed! Great job!

I really like the rhyme scheme you have used in this piece, it is subtle enough to be effective without being overly constricting to the poem - the imagery in this piece is wonderful, I really like the ideas of the last stanza, but the second is my favorite
