She can tell you the story like never before
of being there the night of the raging storm
Her father, and brother tossed around the sea
Never returning again for her to ever see
They had fought the pirates in many of battles
hearing the chains how they clank and rattles
She remembered the times that she heard the talk
of many of men who had a plank they did walk
Smoke filled air releases the souls from the sea
letting them find their homes and make their peace
She lights a candle to remember her father and brother
without them she was left with only her sweet mother
The stories that were told left you on your seat
her soft voice did whisper then she made her retreat
the last words that were spoken in such a hush tone
were those of the sea, and how it done her so wrong.

Thank You!!
Thank You for Your entry: Scars From the Sea
This piece tugged at Spirit hard and I kept seeing a park...also an older woman...feeding birds...
holding seed...
Hearing word: college~
for some reason...while reading this several times I kept getting word: college
Seeing balloons ascend to the air...
looks like around 3...
For some reason also hearing: Park Ranger~
and hearing connected to You~
even though anonymous....Heart of Gold
Wonderful rhyme also~
These lines grabbed and pulled~
Smoke filled air releases the souls from the sea
letting them find their homes and make their peace
She lights a candle to remember her father and brother
without them she was left with only her sweet mother
Magnificent take on the prompt~
Thank You for sharing Your Heart also Spirit!
Best wishes to You in the contest Sweet Soul
**Judging will be done shortly...
Many blessings too
and much love~ Desire~*~
