Drink it in,
this poison so bitter-
filled to the brim with our injustices,
our fears.
It tastes so much of truth,
so much of everything you've always hidden
beneath the bed, inside the closet
away from prying eyes.
Raise the glass to your lips,
relish in the sting
because it's the last thing you'll feel
before the numbness kicks in-
and as your body paralyzes
and your mind begins to go,
remember this my dear-
I warned you not to love me,
to run away while you still could,
yet you chose to pursue
and I'll relish in your blood.
Author notes
In the end, everyone I know goes away.
I dunno, it spawned the thought 'I'll kill them before I'll let them get close' and so thus, this... piece, if I dare call it that.
