You're just a bit narcotic,
And I am stuck on you;
There's nothing more that I want
Than what you won't give.
"Someday" is great for stories,
But I need my fix right now.
I yearn for you to hold me
Like you did before.
You're a drug, you're pure addiction;
I find I need you more and more.
You're the only one I want, I need!
I can't just shoot you up,
You're with somebody else,
I cannot hold you
Like I once did.
You took your pain away,
But still I yearn for you,
You're my perfect love, my hate,
My perfect drug.
Looking back to when we were together
I see it once again.
I tried to push you away
Yet I always came back.
I'm going through withdrawl,
This is a slap in the face,
I am infected by my love for you.
You tease me with your glances
Your touch.
You laugh when you know
I burn for you.
I can't just shoot you up,
You're with somebody else,
I cannot hold you
Like I once did.
You took your pain away,
But still I yearn for you,
You're my perfect love, my hate,
My perfect drug.
Can you feel me now?
Can you feel my pain?
Do you see what you've done to me,
What you're doing to me?
I can't just shoot you up,
You're with somebody else,
I cannot hold you
Like I once did.
You took your pain away,
But still I yearn for you,
You're my perfect love, my hate,
My perfect drug.
You're my perfect drug...
My perfect drug.
Author notes
Heh... Yeah. Dedicated to my 'friend', my ex. This came from a memory of him and me talking and I mentioned getting my 'fortune' told, where he'd be my drug dealer... Heheh...

Yeah... "Chasing Marlowe" and "Perfect Drug" are about the same guy. I wrote this one right after he broke up with me. It evolved from a more tender love song I was writing for him, and this is the result. "Chasing Marlowe" was written as a kind of reflection of what happens pretty much everyday now that we're trying to be 'friends'. Grah... Yeah. Thanks for the comment!
