Corner ornament, always there,
would the world
take notice of your absense?
Observe your surroundings:
love, and laughter,
and memories made in the living of life.
You want to live too,
you want to make memories,
and even more,
you want to be remembered.
Thoughts race through your mind,
words to make the world you love,
or at least the room
you happen to be decorating at the time,
love you in return.
Aww the world with the power of your words?
Simple, you tell yourself,
if you could stop yourself
from choking on the feelings
as they attempt to pass through your throat
and across your tongue.
Idle chatter with a kind soul
just trying to be nice,
but your cheeks blush,
your stomach turns,
and the words you speak
aren't the words you thought,
and the kind soul wanders off
to find someone a bit more fun.
Corner ornament,
you stand alone
with so much to give,
and so much to say.
With wasted beauty never heard,
would the world
take notice of your absense?

This is very thoughtful and such a nice message... I'm sure whoever this is for will appreciate it, it's a realistic kind of sweet. Thanks for your entry.

"with so much to give,
and so much to say."
It's sad, because the world probably wouldn't notice its absense. Beautiful poem, it made me think
