Awake Says I

The burning holocrons
Seep deeply in incandescent light
Why, Tormentor?
Do you pry?
I love it when you lie
And watch you slip in sludge
Cheshire grins creep along
Like a sublime baroque song
And awake says I
Lovely, mon chèr homme
To stars with your touch
As we talk of finer things and such
Your eyes cause me fits
I press on in bliss
The smile inspires to soar
And awake says I
No, please stay
Do not leave and away
I wish for your company
Your sweet seductive time
Even your platonic love
No, you can’t reside
But only in thoughts will I find
Your warmhearted face
Welcoming to endearing arms
And finally awake says I!

I love this - a great use of my kind of adjectives (mixed up ones), and lovely rhythm.

Generally careful, a new take on the cliche, and very beautiful and quirky.

Thank you. I too get a little tired of the old cliches.

    Lovely.
First time I read this I didn't comment, because I didn't know what to say.
    Lovely.

this is absolutely charming ... your diction is so perfect,,, i have read novels, historical ones, and poetry by Victorian and Romantic Age novels with diction not similar to but exactly like this ... your imagry is charming and brusque and humorous ... 'Cheshire grins creep along/ Like a sublime baroque song' ... splendid

this playful, sensuous poem even hinting at the historical era it might come from ,, 'baroque' music is melancholy music, not sad music, and often times very playful as it your poetry here ...

    just spledidly done

Thank you thank you thank you! Just being compared to the Victorian age was enough to make my day. At first I thought it was to become bit scatter brained, but I just felt inspired that day. Thank you for your words.
