Ghosts Interpreted

There stood a door without a house
Behind, a girl with sallow skin
She died and rooted long ago
The door it never opens in

Everyday she waited
Daytime on the other side
Her world entrenched in darkness
Since long ago she died

Moulding into mouldy floor
One day she heard his feet
The man approached the oaken door
This man she longed to meet

The night turned swiftly sunset,
Nightime followed suit
The man was lost at far away
He stumbled on some fruit

The door it looked so quaintly
His hand upon the frame
She could feel him smile
As he felt could feel her pain

The night turned slowly sunrise
Daytime crept to stage
His world called for his swift return
Back home to his village

Then sunset he returned to her
To wait beside the door
For there they sat on either side,
Their lonely hearts implored

Then from that time, not one day past
When he did not return
To his girl, who stood unseen
To feel her sorrowed yearn

The girl’s world stood so cold,
Surrounded by her bleak
She pressed herself against the door
The heat on wilted cheek

What’s it like in your world
On your side in the sun
The handsome youth does answer
Your beauty surpassed by none

How dare you say such fancy?
All you hear from past my door
I could be a hideous beast
But yet, you wait unsure

And so her lover’s voice, it sweetly sang
Uncertain as this is,
Your voice is music in my ears
My faith in untold bliss

Although your words caress me
I have past the life of lived
I cannot let you stay here
A whole life to stay unlived

But exquisite voice I want for naught
Then to e here by your side
I’ll waste my time to feel your soul
Please let me feel alive

Without you I feel nothing
Cold, despite my sunshined throne
Alone in my crowd of happy souls
I ache for you alone

Years went by, their love stayed true
He made the journey far
From quant and cottaged village,
To his maiden in her ark

Her singing soul it called to him
Haunted every dream
His friends would tease him, taunt him
His hopeless, empty face

They say the is no prosper
In the courting of a ghost
Why not court a woman here
And prosper more than most.

For there was another twist
In this sordid fairytale
A maiden in his homeland
A fair sight to whom all did pale

Her golden hair it sparkled
The prize of many lands
Brilliant eyes they whispered
Of the marriage for her grand

This lovely lady ready
For any man that she might woo
Any man would have her
A precious, dazzling jewel

But alas he heart was taken
By that dazed and mystery love
The one that walks all day to meet
His unseen waiting dove

She had hear the tales
They only thrilled her more
Perhaps this man could be deferred
The Excitement would endure

The man he tried to keep his word
To his rose behind closed door
The temptation of a ready woman
How could he refuse such an offer?

The golden maid, she smiled
For she had won her prize
Wrapped tight in sweet embrace
He tempted sin’s demise

Their passion turned to moonlight
Her love became the dusk
Their legs entwined the blistered sky
With overwhelming lust

Despite love grew to share
One girl betrayed his mind
Each kiss he heard her sadness
Each touch he heard his bind

The ghost sang on when he would sleep
She called him in his dreams
Locked in his soft embraces
His mind left to sorrow’s screams

The golden one would see his face
And wonder what he might fear
She knew although his grip claimed love
His heart was nowhere near

And so he left but one last time
To put his ghost to rest
The ghost knew his love for her remained
But knew not if he loved her best

She knew it was no contest
Between her an the girl who o shared his lodge
The golden one was flesh and bone
While she was but one mirage

Her heart was underpowered
All her dreams were lost desire
Her last hope to save her tainted love
Was the Lord of Death, her sire
So for the first time in years and years
He feet began to tread
Away from her corner behind the door
And into darkness dread

The cold damp floor beseeched herm
Turn back if you might dare
The dank it called its siren song
This mighty trap might snare

She laid her head upon the floor
Relief came settling in
Her weary journey over now
No chance for pain again

But no! Her heart resisted
E mission must be won
Give not to faithful rest
The mission must be won

A monster blocked her entrance
To the throne of the lord’s abode
And so he was her ticket
To the land of her true love

The monster stood above her
Growling, salivated for her taste
Each fang dripped red with tortured blood
For her pretty bloody paste

His eyes were pale and luminous
In such a dim lit light
They starred down inside her pitied sol
And blinded every site

The awesome grey fur covered
Every inch of her small face
All that she saw were brightest eyes
Boring deep into her place

The claws they split her open
Still her eyes alit with truth
A grab from the side to give
Weapon to slay him sharp and through

Triumphant she stood above the beast
Her purpose lay ahead
She saw her lord before her
Her face was full of dread

For he was great, but terrible
Serene, convoluted eyes
AN awesome abhorring smile
Beckoning forward despise

His hollowed body skeletal
His flesh was nothing more
Is rotting soul cried out for blood
The Lord of such a door

What is it you seek my child
With skin so like the moon
For one so beautiful to be do dead
It seems death took you far too soon

Yet here you are upon my throne
Do tell me what you seek
Do not snivel, Stand my dear
And fear be not so meek

She told him of her spoiled tale
The help that she required
She sang to him her sorrows
And pleaded to her sire

So you want to be in human world
To open the closed door?
It can’t be done for very long
Natural order would soon restore

Still I can mold a key for you
To open up the grave
A few hours you many remain up there
IN your dreaming world above

IN five hours you must return to me
Wait there is a weight
You must sacrifice a payment
If this is to be your fate

Come back to me, to be my love
In here my dungeon dim
Your beauty might district me from
My darkness trite and grim

This is a price you must uphold
Will you trade a few moments untold bliss
If you rendezvous with man
For an eternity of miss?

She knew that it was very wrong
And that she would pay
Caught in the moment, she was blind
The price was non-to say

Raising her eyes to meet her lord’s
She nodded to seal the well
He e gave her one small brass brown key
And placed her in a spell

In stupor she walked back
In her living trance to door
The key it fit so perfectly
The sky outside to adore

She felt the warmth surround her skin
The heaven she had missed
Te sunlight circled round her
Her sallow face it kissed

She followed trails of footprints
Engraved by the man into the ground
She in took it all the forest
The effulgent, green surround

Each leaf to her messiah
Each speck of dirt revered
Her pallor feet on broken ground
To feel the moist dark ground feet with smear

Tip-toed past the broken twigs
The other cottages slept
She gazed in at their splendour
Wishing as she crept

With her destination reached
Her footsteps stopped to rest
A tiny, thache’d cottage
Undermining all the best

The door creaked slowly open
Gazing in upon her lover’s rest
Griping onto another
A maid she lay undressed

Tears of rage consumed her
As she saw her lover’s bliss
With another beautiful lady he lay
Unaware of her presence

Awakening to see his girl
Her eyes in fumes of rip
He gasped in shock to see her
And took her in his grip

Their passions kisses wakened hell
With intensity it faced
Their pent up need for savoured
Met in evanescent haste

The golden maiden’s heart just split
The two halves went un-glued
And so their love meant nothing
The tears made lace look crude

A push a shove of violence
She met the ghost face to face
Two angels stared in vehemence
To stand in victor’s place

The rose drew back inside her mind
Her lord had gave her spells
She muttered incantations
The maiden trapped inside a cell

The golden one was turned to stone
All he could do was stare
Her naked figure hardened
Forever to be forbore

Glancing at his girl in shock
The crimes she did commit
He loved her still despite this
That would never come to split

Hand in hand they lingered
Trapped in warming touch
This moment lasts for always
IN the end the love of such

All moments turn to finish
From “dust to dust” is said
Nothing can last for always
The curses of the dead

Time ticked away in side them
Each minute at it’s last
Their fervent touches they revealed
Their hearts melted with the past

The gave to their intake
The symphonies of her sighs
Their hands would clasp in want and need
Passion permeating cries

Thoughts pounded through his handsome head
As he knew he never would forget
The way she felt beneath him
Unlike any girl he’d ever met

Her skin so smooth and supple
Each breast below him wait
He could feel her craving touch
His finger’s, love create

He took a time to take her in
Knowing it would end all to o soon
The love they finally found
Would vanish in his gloom

Her eyes were made of emeralds
The fervent stayed alive
The dark blonde hair, like faded cedar
Washed through his work his strives

A shrill sharp scream of darkness
Surrounded in its reverence
The lovers held each other tight
As lord death came to claim his prize

Eyes widened as she realized
The extent of torment that await
Reached out hand would barely touch
As she was dragged to gate

From his arms bereaved to shadows
Helpless from this curse
So she pledged, on no one
If only he could feel remorse

She woke up in her grave again
Slave to the night she had returned
As death did say in terror
Order is never to be scorned

Don’t take me away from sunlit skies
Stained sea glass trough my eyes
I beg of you dear Lord
Pity, pathetic cries

The shadow’s eyes glared brightest red
IN dusky awesome rage
August to the living souls that saw
He terrified the dead

Calmly hands grasped on her neck
Pull her down to unknown
Manic laughter begrudged her
The trophy would be shown

Her ponderous wait upon her heart
Smudged existence in this crime
Twirled away to ashes
Her love inhaled her one last time

You kill evening in me
She spook out towards her groom
But my dear you keep forgetting
You are already death and gloom

He dresses her in creamy glows
Perfect as any bride to be
Lord Death of slimy underworld
His wife her throne as queen

Pearly illumines his darkness
He smiles at her grief
The dark he rails down her slight back
He strokes in  his relief

Long and bony fingers run
Down her milk skin
Compared to her lovers t ouches
It makes her blood run cold within

Weeping on her wedding day
Painted faces crawl
Lethargic down her aisle
The railway to her fall

    Wow! What a poem!

Firstly; I didn't see much of a problem with the length, it could have been longer, as every word seemed to be vital in one way. But still..."Eraser" is only about 20 words long...sometimes less can be more. But still, I didn;t have a problem.

I liked what you took from the words, a lot of thought had went into this, it really was beautiful.

    So well done, good luck
    And thanks
