Every stop was a new adventure
One person getting on and
Another person getting off
I hated riding the bus
But bills had to be paid
Sitting
And waiting
And waiting some more
Chasing it down
While the driver just laughed
Like the ice cream man does to the kids
Then the times of disappointment
When it didn’t show
Why can’t they be like mail carriers
Neither rain
Nor snow
Nor foggy weather
Then there you were
Sitting behind the big wheel
Greeting every passenger
Especially the females
Always smiling
Like you were high
Happiest driver ever to be seen
As if you just got laid
And then
That first night u asked for my name
The next
For the digits
And instead
I gave you my card
You didn’t call
I didn’t worry
I knew you would be there
At the stop
On time
With a smile
You said i’m sorry
I said whatever
That attitude made you call
We talked for hours
Laughed like two school kids
Then you slipped in the question
Want to go to dinner’
I said aight
Who knew our lives would change
So drastically
Quickly
As if time sped ahead
We have hit some bumps
But we got over them
The relationship almost broke
But taped it back together
Duct tape goes a long way
Now we have grown
As if we are one
The love we share
Will keep us whole
Soon you will depart
Sitting here
Tears strolling down my face
Wondering what’s to come
Will you be ok
Fear has hit
Of you being gone
Losing you forever
My nights will be cold
Lonely
Boring
But the experience of the bus ride
Well
It will be a reminder of what we have become
Cause forever you are in my heart and mind
