Yea GOD!
The next time you want
to give me something
don't trouble yourself
with tricky wrapping.
If you must diddle
with illusion
allow my disasters
the same confusion.
Perhaps then I
shall never know
the other shoe's drop,
the last cruel blow
destine for me as
my time draws neigh.
Let me go in ignorant
bliss as I die.
The next time you want
to give me something
don't trouble yourself
with tricky wrapping.
If you must diddle
with illusion
allow my disasters
the same confusion.
Perhaps then I
shall never know
the other shoe's drop,
the last cruel blow
destine for me as
my time draws neigh.
Let me go in ignorant
bliss as I die.
Author notes
The N in this poem feels so comfortable with God that N can actually argue,be sarcastic with and scold their own concept of God. That is true anthromorphic belief. I know quite a few people who pray this way.

This reads like N is casting God as a personage similar to those in the Greek, Norse or Roman pantheons with human characteristics. It takes things far beyond Job's questioning and into a near blasphemous attitude.
I think it, assuming the existence of the biblical God, argues under the banner of 'God is God; we can't presume to insult him with our challenges to his character or nature'
'Blessings in disguise ?' is an excellent vehicle for demonstrating this challenge.
