Kaddish for Uncle Jim

Almighty King of Heaven & Earth,
bring peace to us now in our times of need,
and bring peace to the soul of this dearly departed
my uncle James, your servant who so well served
his nation in its time of need,
who so well served and cared for his own mother
in her elder years.

G-d, in the next few days like I have
since I learned of his passing,
I'm studying the traditional kaddish
for mine uncle who had no children.

Please let me offer to you in pure spirit
this kaddish in my poor Hebrew so that Uncle Jim
will not be mourned without a person
who might have been like a son to him.
