The summer sun has faded
Now the year is older
As darker skies come dancing near
And winter squalls will blow away the stars
As autumn soon appears
The skies are filled with birds
Flying southward bound
They follow clouds that disappear
My thoughts are often flying with them
When autumn dreams are here
And like the sun that takes the mist away
Your love sustained me
Now autumn is here
Through autumn breezes
We kicked the leaves away
We always loved this time of year
We ran so fast to beat the rain
Now autumn's here
The clouds appear
I had you here
And like the sun that takes the mist away
Your love sustained me
Now autumn is here
The rain is falling in a gentle stream
Like summer kisses and autumn tears
And we will live here forever in autmn dreams

Lovely!
i particularly liked " We ran so fast to beat the rain".

This Autumn Love song with its own rules, as it were, could be set in either Hemisphere.
I do like it, I assure you. There is music and nostalgia.
Pleasant repetition augments the lyric quality of this work. Why are the birds flying southward bound?

This is a lovely piece, it feels like a song I know, yet I don't really know a song like this, think it could be that I find this poem hits me close to home!
Well done!
Thanks for entering! -
In the spirit of
...'the sun(son)of winter' and I can here the resounding theme of 'cause you're not here' repeated in silent tones of moody and blue. There definitely is a song in these lyrics! joy

I like how visual the start of the song is and how you included a lot of the ideas that I put out there.
I like thinking of winter squalls blowing away the stars!
