Through the Rain

The sparkle in her satin eyes
Spoke volumes of her character
Eventually she realized
Her pride and virtue defined her

She’s been her own worst enemy
Confessing self-inflicted flaws
Somehow fighting through the day
Remembering what’s gone

Now her eyes tell a story
Of a girl who found the strength
To live each day still hoping
To see that rainbow hiding
Through the pouring rain

With a new sense of pride
She holds her head up high
Focusing on victories
A smile lifts her lips tonight
