Storm swept skies
carry sweet nothings
to the ears of deaf trees
while life is left dangling...
Dogged dreams drag dead minds
into the depths of oblivion -
painted with quills and ink spills,
they torment only those with unopened eyes...
For every step one takes,
the earth is shook and something breaks.
In the darkness silence quivers,
hidden from the sunrise.
Everlasting evil esscence
peppers each blind eye
with fate
arousing interests that before lay only dormant.
Tripping over poison lips
talking to tentative fingertips -
darkness ever clutching onto the folds of silken hearts
the world begins to crumble and decay...

This is certainly a powerful piece. A poetic infusion of angst and some intriguing depth of imagery. Thank you for your entry & Best wishes in the contest!
