Risen

Risen

When the darkened world had fallen behind me
and  the pain and sorrows had disappeared.
I followed the angels attentively
and lost all the heartache that I had feared.
I was led to a light that shown brilliantly
and lovely diaphanous wings appeared.
Now standing above where they laid me to rest,
I smiled at it all; it was simply a test.

As soon as I judge this contest (Picture Prompt, When-we‘re-Gone), I am setting up an INVITE ONLY -
PLEASE enter THIS poem in that contest. I can not give enough top awards in the original contest, and this deserves a higher award than what I can give it there…..so please re-enter this in the “Invite Only”.
    Thank you.

This is lovely in its brevity and feeling.
I too saw this image and could not find the
words to write for it. You surpass visuals
    and reach for deeper thoughts.

Well done for this. You certainly do write a lot of different forms, and you have done wonderfully here. I loved the last line "it was simply a test", what a great ending. All the best for the contest.

Amazing take on the picture. I go mainly with free-verse, as I did enough of the others years ago. You, my dear, seem to be a scholar at all. Wish you well in the contest. Papagallo

I wouldn't have known this was a form as it was so nicely done and read so well. I don't think I've read an Ottava Rima before - so for following such a tight syllable count, this was very well done! I like how you ended this also.
thank you for the nice entry
    best wishes

On another day I would comment in Rime Royale as is my wont for all your Ottava Rima, but perhaps today you will let me off with a prose comment. I know you hate prose but still...
Your lovely job as always a beautiful restful poem was what I needed tonight.

You always have the best last lines, this one no exception. This poem was great, short and sweet.

    A great read.
