Mom,
This year, I asked myself,
what can I give you for
Mother's Day?
The normal,
flowers,
a card,
jewelry,
Well, flowers-
they tend to whither and die,
a card-
yes, but it has all been said before,
so that was no good either.
jewelry-
well daddy made sure
you had enough to open your own store.
I had hit a wall,
what to do,
something different,
I must do,
So, I decided,
I would write a book a poems
just for you.
each one,
a small part
of our history,
of the years lost,
of the love found,
just my way of giving
you a part of me,
that we lost out on.

So touching this poem. What a beautiful Mother's Day gift. You could not ask for a better gift then your daughter writing you a poem let alone a book of poems. Just beautiful. I'm sure she will treasure those poems forever just as I'm sure you will as well. The beauty of relationships. There are ups and downs but the love somehow shines through!! My son wrote me a poem and I'm so very grateful that I have it beautifully framed.
