beyond our borders

in stone
each movement of air
is written;
mathematics of water
and tears are mapped-

these settle as negatives
etched across empty

which is how the wind
long gone is known

and how a river un-
dries itself
in the silence of a day.

    I love how this poem combines elements of nature with feelings and with silence. The words are wisely used and I enjoy the imagery they create. Thanks for your entry.

    Been too long since I have sank within the essence of your words.

    The calm contemplation breaths such beauty within the threads through out words. Crafted with such self.

    I find this fascinating. I don't know if you've ever been to Scotland but I have, in the Highlands and the Orkney Isles. Especially in the Orkneys, I found the landscape to be seemingly empty feeling, so big and endless yet beautiful - I felt on the verge of tears, as if I could see forever. This poem makes me feel the same way - it's starkly beautiful.

    Stunning, brilliant work, my Friend. I hope you're (becoming) prepared for your dance with Destiny, Sweetie...pennings like this will ensure your name is etched in stone. Good luck in the contest, Poet. Remarkable stuff. Wanda

    Wow, I love how you take the empty and fill it with memory ... like a negative transformed into the movement of a moment caught in time
