on white-plastered walls...

a name breathing life
perhaps sprouting surprises not so long ago…
Dalaney, Dalaney… where have you gone
wooshing by at the speed of light
leaving naught by a comet trail across the night sky…
Was it a wall that you hit with your talented pen,
or with your heart? (the most likely song...)
Was it the void we sometimes find ourselves in,
where the page is deeper and darker than it is long?
Perhaps you’ve moved on to a more sophisticated site,
one with more meat and less sugar,
a place not flooded by hopeful beginners…
perhaps it is simply the word 'fresh'…

suggesting that such a prominent list
may have been lacking in something fundamental*;

my love affair with bukowski has faded into the mist...what can i say? he bought me a few drinks, wooed me with a few 'what-if's' and then, left me flat...the bastard i'm still buying bathings suits, i threw out the razors and opted for Nair, still drink brandy, still smoke with the gods, and i think you are in my mind...
