Destiny

Slobbery smooches,
giggles and grins
cute as can be
Leah Destiny Friend
Granddaughter of mine;
love of my life
bringing happiness,
erasing all strife
Three tooth smile;
prettiest ever seen
Big blue eyes
may soon turn green
Crawling everywhere;
hard to keep up
Making messes
with your sippy cup
First sweet potatoes
My, what a mess
but bath time was fun
I really must confess
Eating cheerios
found on the floor
only nine months old
but she can open doors
Doors to my heart
and all who know
Leah Destiny Friend
Puts on quite a show
Most adorable baby;
so sweet and cute
To say anyone is cuter
would be rather moot

    Dear Crazymomma: I read your poem Destiny because I also wrote a poem titled Destiny. Sorry so long to read some of yours. I found out that I had a mini-stroke because my local ER Personnel abused me when I had my accident on JUne 10th. I really like your poem. I too am a new grandmother, and also freaked out when I found out. My daughter Kristen just turned 20 in JUne. I am now 44, as of July 08. My new granddaughter, Genevieve is now 3 months old. She was born on May 1st,2008. She is so beautiful and innocent, and I would do anything for her. I love her with my entire being. I too didn't think I would enjoy being a grandma, but I really like it. I show her picture to people I don't even know. Much Love, janjan xoxo P.S. i don't know how to use the gold faces for rating poems yet, but I give yours A++++.

    She's so cute in that photo that you wouldn't even have to say so in a poem, I love babies and I think the best kind of love is to a baby and I love this poem esp about the door to your heart line. I hope you have a wonderful life with your grand daughter and spoil her.

    there's nothing on earth like being a grandma. I enjoyed this a lot. My oldest grandchild is 15. I have 7.

  • this is sweet. i like the short lines and the non-use of stanzas, it makes it flow pretty well. you could work on that a bit, the rhyme is a little off in places, but it's good, overall.

    An adorable write filled with joy. The rhyme scheme seems a bit choppy, and I would have used more punctuation, but all in all, I found this enjoyable to read. Who can resist children? You might want to play with the flow a bit..for instance, try "bringing me joy" instead of "bringing me happiness" in line seven. Longer lines would also help to eliminate the choppiness. Aside from that, a nicely rhymed verse with love shining throughout.

  • A poem that is full of experience and heartfelt feeling. I think it improves when you get into your rhyme scheme.

    A blessed mother

    Motherhood is the blessing of God. Only a mother can enjoy the innocence of a child. Sucking the fingers, the toothless face, the movements of the hands and feet, smiling then crying all of a sudden, and the beaming eyes make a child dear to every one. The attachment a mother has towards her child is made manifest. The picture drawn is clear and graphic
