Ode to simple

If Dali had no hands,
he would do the same thing you do
when you sit and gaze into
the hole in the wood -
round; with sharp edges that play
host to the grasshoppers who
barely reach deep sleep in your hair.

The termites never go back in time
to see what they created, there is only
up, and softer bark and darker nights.
And who are we to make things easy
for mother nature when she does her job -
and at the same time make her
lose the way of left and right and
swim around until the balance
collapses into itself;
there will always be a plant who eats flies;
a man on a bike;
a revolving door in which to get stuck;

If Dali had no hands, he would have
painted with his eyes.

    Stupendous!

    What a wonderful tribute to a fellow artist! Well done, nicely surreal. These are my favorite lines:
    "The termites never go back in time
    to see what they created, there is only
    up, and softer bark and darker nights." -I love the imagery! Keep your pen to the page and thanks for entering!

    'If Dali had no hands'... Yes I believe you're right. Interesting that you brought me to this, as painting is my profession of over 25 years.

    I much like this, I detect a nature lover but a realistic one bringing it into relation with and including the world of man. Sometimes all can seem a little gloomy in this relationship, still widely misunderstood I feel (and suspect you feel to) but I believe you point to much reason for good hope.
    Beautiful description of immersion in nature plus a message of well founded optimistic cheer. I particularly like:
    'host to the grasshoppers who
    barely reach deep sleep in your hair.' Great stuff! Sol

    I really like this and can't quite put my finger on the why.

    Your images are crisp and the wording nicely done. There are places where I think it could perhaps be trimmed but still...

    really nice.
